Athens · Greece

Friendship begins across the board.

In a park in Athens, we set up a few tables, pour hot tea, and play chess with neighbours and newcomers from many places. No strings attached — just people getting to know one another, because of the love of Jesus in us.

Who we are

A community in Athens, welcoming newcomers as neighbours and friends.

CrossCulture is a registered organisation in Greece, working alongside a small house church. We come from a Christian faith, and it's the love of Jesus that moves us to open our tables, our homes, and our friendship to the families and newcomers who have made Athens their new home. All are welcome here — across every language and background, as one family.

What we do

One friendship, one week at a time.

There's a natural rhythm to how a stranger in the park becomes part of a spiritual family. Here's a week with us.

01

Tea, coffee & chess in the park

We set up tables in the evening and simply spend time together — playing chess, talking, and building real friendships with whoever stops by.

Evenings
02

Men's gathering & a shared meal

Regulars are invited to gather for a big meal together, games, and an open conversation around the Bible. Usually 15–30 men of every age join us.

Weeknights
03

Believers gathering

Friends from the park now meet to read the Bible and grow together as a community, in their own languages and cultures.

Weekly
04

House church on Sunday

Friends from the park are becoming part of our Sunday family. Our long-term hope is a healthy, locally-led church that reflects the many peoples who now call Athens home.

Sundays

Stand with us

This work happens because friends stand with us.

Every cup of tea, every shared meal, every chess board is made possible by people who pray and give. If you'd like to be part of building these friendships in Athens, we'd be so grateful.
